From Launch to Landmark: Influencing Global Policy and Securing G20 Commitments on Women's Health

Healthcare
Public Policy

A new women's healthcare company, launched in 2021, successfully influenced global policy by securing the first-ever G20 commitments on women's health. By building a strong evidence base and a broad stakeholder coalition, the company executed a relentless engagement strategy across three successive G20 presidencies (Indonesia, India, and Brazil). This proactive approach established the company as a key voice and achieved landmark policy wins on an international stage.

Background

A global technology and networking company faced a series of disruptive commercial issues in the Asia Pacific region. These included supply chain problems in Malaysia and Vietnam during the pandemic, market access and customs clearance issues in Vietnam, and challenges with local content rules in Indonesia. They contacted Speyside Group to analyze these issues, provide strategic recommendations, and offer hands-on support to troubleshoot and resolve them.

Approach

The strategy was built on close collaboration with technical experts on the client side. This was combined with leveraging pre-existing relationships with key government stakeholders and executing a systematic engagement plan through multiple channels to address the issues directly.

Impact

Three out of the four major commercial issues were successfully solved, allowing business as usual to resume. This resolution resulted in a very significant return on investment in P&L terms for the company. Work is currently ongoing on the final issue.
